Pickler lived in a difficult environment. When she was only two, she was abandoned by her mother in order to escape an abusive marriage. In 1995, she was returned back to the world of Pickler, and took custody. It was, however, not the best time for her. At the age of 12, the court returned Pickler to her grandparents whom she grew up with. Pickler was unable to parent her kids in the absence of their parents.
