Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally referred to as Andra day, is an American R&B singer-songwriter. The singer has received various accolades including the Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for an Academy Award. Andra Day is an extremely gifted and skilled artist. She's not a throwback R&B professional, but her roots in gospel jazz as well as the blues is apparent and translates to today's music. Her debut album Cheers to the Fall (2015) is an instant success in the genre of R&B/hiphop which earned her a variety of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017) was her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack earned both accolades. Amen and the singles Make Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday each have singles making fans wait for the arrival of her second album. Andra has been born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. After growing up within San Diego and surrounding areas She began singing in the church and was enrolled into the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Her focus changed on contemporary R&B and pop when she graduated and was later drawn back towards the jazz and soul singers that she was a fan of in her youth. Kai Millard Morris recorded a concert of Day in the following year, then later gifted her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's songs. Motown famous Adrian Gurvitz then introduced Day to music industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day, allied with Gurvitz's Buskin label as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, gained a cult following on YouTube before signing to Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her first track Forever Mine. DJs began to play it in radio stations. After that, she was signed to Warner Bros. Records and began working with producer Adrian Gurvitz to record the album that she released as her debut, Cheers to the fall (2015). The album included the single Rise Up that became an iconic song of social justice campaigns all over the world. Day received 2 Grammy nominations for the album including Best R&B Album. The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a concept-album on the famous jazz musician's life and career, came out in 2019. The United States Versus Billie Holiday is a biographical account of Holiday that was released the in the same year. Andi matichak (born August 25, 1970) is an American actor. Her first appearance was on TV programs like Orange Is the New Black or Blue Bloods prior to her debut in horror films Halloween and sequels. Andi Mattichak was born May 3, 1994 in Framingham Mass.
